In this post, we answer some frequently asked questions about our ramp systems, covering everything from installation specifics and safety features to seasonal maintenance tips. Do concrete footers need to be poured?

Our modular ramp systems are designed with multi-positional base feet featuring a substantial footprint, eliminating the need for additional concrete pavers or poured footers. These base feet are also offset and rotatable, allowing them to fit snugly under a ramp or be positioned close to a wall, providing both stability and flexibility for installation in various spaces.

Does my modular ramp system have to go straight out, or can it turn?

Our modular ramp system is highly customizable to suit your specific layout needs. It can be configured as a straight run or adapted to turn left or right using a turn platform. For even more flexibility, the system can include a switchback with a turn-back platform or be extended at an angle using a 45-degree angle platform. Whatever your space requirements, the system can be tailored to meet your exact specifications.

What sizes do the platforms and ramps come in?

Our standard resting platforms are available in various sizes to accommodate different needs, including 4’x4’, 4’x5’, 5’x5’, 5’x6’, 6’x6’, and 8’x5’. Ramps are offered in widths of 36” and 48”, with lengths ranging from 2’ to 8’. For unique requirements, custom sizes can be arranged upon request, ensuring a perfect fit for any space.

What do I use for ice and snow removal on ramps, platforms, and steps?

To safely remove ice and snow from ramps, platforms, and steps, we recommend using a Magnesium Chloride salt substitute. This product helps maintain traction without causing damage to the ramp’s surface.

Why don't you sell platforms without handrails?

At our core, safety is a priority. For this reason, we provide all platforms with handrails as a standard feature, ensuring stability and security for users in all environments.

What kind of tread is used on this ramp system?

Our ramp system is designed with safety and traction in mind. The platforms feature a knurled, extruded tread that provides multi-directional grip, while the ramps incorporate a raised-rib, extruded tread to deliver maximum slip resistance, ensuring secure footing in all conditions.

Can I get the black applied surface on this ramp?

No, the black applied surface is not offered on our modular ramp system. However, this feature is available on select models, specifically on two of our SUITCASE® portable folding ramps.

How long does installation take?

Installation time may vary based on the specific configuration, but most systems can be assembled on the same day they arrive. With minimal tools required, the setup process is quick and efficient, allowing for immediate accessibility.

Do the stairs need to connect to one of your platforms?

Our stairs are designed for versatility—they can connect seamlessly to one of our platforms or be attached to an existing platform or deck. Each stair unit features four independently adjustable legs, allowing for a secure and adaptable fit in various configurations.
