  • Carpenter - Pittsburgh, PA

    Description of Responsibilities

    Carpenter is responsible for completing home modification jobs. The position is to include site evaluation, materials procurement, installation. Secondly, the carpenter will assist and complete deliveries, installations of, and become educated in the use of, home medical equipment.

    Scope of Supervision

    Installation Technicians / Laborer


    Responsibilities of the Carpenter include the following:


    1. Representing the company in a professional and courteous manner in all interactions with client/patients.
    2. Manage and schedule bathroom modification jobs to include site evaluation, materials procurement, installation, and personnel management in PA OH and WV..
    3. Schedule, deliver and install home medical equipment to clients/patients in PA OH and WV to include but not limited to mobility and accessibility products, vehicle lifts, stair lifts, and wheel chair lifts.
    4. Schedule and deliver home medical equipment and supply to commercial clients (skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, hospitals).
    5. Oversee the delivery of bed mattresses, oxygen, bath aids, tanks, Tele-health’s, and other home care equipment to VA clients.
    6. Demonstrate and explain Home Medical Equipment (HME) in the client’s home and obtain appropriate documentation.
    7. Provide assistance to the Installation Manager as needed.
    8. Oversight of employees to ensure work is completed in a timely/professional manner.
    9. Repairing delivered equipment in the field and in the warehouse.
    10. Loading and unloading of trucks.
    11. Checking deliveries received in the warehouse to ensure orders are correct and no damage to deliveries.
    12. Logging complaints from patients and facilitating follow up.
    13. Maintain cleanliness of company vehicle; keeping it stocked with needed supplies for day to day activities.
    14. Maintain warehouse cleanliness and organization.
    15. Complete monthly truck inventories and assisting with warehouse inventory as needed.
    16. Participate in training classes and in-services when provided.
    17. Participate in Company committees and meetings when requested.
    18. Participate in surveys conducted by authorized inspection agencies.
    19. Report any misconduct, suspicious or unethical activities to the Installation Manager.
    20. Report equipment hazards and/or product incidents as required in accordance with Company policy.
    21. Perform other duties as assigned by the Installation Manager.

    Minimum Qualifications


    1. High School diploma or equivalent.
    2. Effective interpersonal, time management and organizational skills.
    3. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record for the past three years.
    4. Three years of experience in bathroom remodels work including plumbing, electrical, framing, and finishing.
